As candidates visit several parts of Afghanistan before Wednesday, the last day of the presidential election campaigns, leading presidential candidate, Abdullah Abdullah visited western Ghor province to rally on Tuesday.
Speaking in Ghor, Dr. Abdullah promised to improve the province’s economy upon winning the elections.
“We will rebuild and construct roads that will benefit the agriculture and economy of Ghor," he said. “We will not betray the trust of the people.”
Later that same day, Dr. Abdullah visited Behsod district of Wardak province for another campaign event.
Speaking among the Behsod residents, Dr. Abdullah emphasized his commitment to his pledges and his aim to implement them during his first days of work in the Presidential Palace.
“National sovereignty is our slogan, we are against discrimination,” he proclaimed. “We are not here to rule. We are here to serve the people.”
Furthermore, a number of women and the Hezb-e Refah-e-Afghanistan party endorsed Dr. Abdullah for the runoff.
