Written By TOLOnews.com

At least eight demining workers were killed and three others injured in the Tobakai village of Mohammad Agha district in eastern Logar province on Tuesday morning.

The demining personnel worked for the Mine Detection Center (MDC), an Afghan non-governmental organization founded in 1989.

The incident took place around 8:00am local time when a group of unknown gunmen began firing at the MDC employees.

No insurgent groups including the Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack.
