The Kabul-Baghlan Highway was reopened to traffic following large-scale operations by Afghan forces, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.

The highway was closed to traffic earlier this month after Taliban attacked the city of Pul-e-Khumri, the center of the northern province of Baghlan.

Meanwhile, the Baghlan-Balkh Highway as also reopened to traffic, the statement said.

The highway was closed in Kelagai, Jar Khoshk, Jangal Bagh and Chaharshanba Tapa areas of Baghlan province.

But the clashes on the outskirts of Pul-e-Khumri city are ongoing for the past 12 days.
