Local officials of eastern Nuristan province said that two civilians were killed by a roadside bomb on Saturday morning in Chapa Dara District of the province.

The incident took place in the district when a passenger vehicle struck a roadside bomb, the officials said.

The victims have been taken to a nearby hospital.

No group including the Taliban claimed responsibility for the blast.

Insurgents frequently use roadside bombs to target Afghan and NATO forces, but most of the victims are civilians.
