ELECTIONS 2014: FATF Warns Afghanistan Faces Blacklist

The Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF) has warned that if Afghanistan does not pass an Anti-Money Laundering Law within the next few weeks, it would be blacklisted which could have devastating consequences on foreign investment.

The Afghan Parliament’s Finance and Budget Committee says the law will be passed within a week. Banks in China and Turkey have already blocked it’s dollar dealings with the Afghan banks.
Host Enayatullah Mudaris discusses the topic with the following guests:

Khan Jan Alokozai, Deputy Director of Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI)

Ashraf Khan Azimi, Representative of Ministry of Justice (MoJ)
