TAKANI: Abdullah-Ghani Camps to Enter Direct Talks

In a press conference on Wednesday, Abdullah Abdullah's team announced plans to engage in direct negotiations with Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai's camp in order to resolve the ongoing disputes that have thrown the election process off-kilter in recent weeks.

Abdullah remains in boycott of the election commission and its vote counting process after accusing top Independent Election Commission (IEC) officials along with President Hamid Karzai of engineering large-scale fraud during the runoff. Nevertheless, he and his team showed openness to resolving their concerns with their opponent.

In this episode of Takani, host Zabiullah Sadaat discusses the topic with the following guests:

•    Shikeeba Hashimi, MP
•    Helai Ershad, MP
•    Abdullah Poyan, member of Ashraf Ghani-Ahmdzai’s team
•    Toofan Waziri, member of Abdullah Abdullah’s team
