Afghans across the country began casting their votes in the third presidential election on Saturday by defying threats from insurgents who vowed to disrupt the process at any cost.

The Election Commission extended the deadline to 5 pm tonight. People are voting in many of the 34 provinces across the country on Saturday in the third presidential election, despite security threats.
