Officials of Helmand’s provincial Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) said that the votes of 13 polling sites from four districts of the province have been isolated for further examination.
Helmand ECC head, Rahim Gul Alikhil said the votes that were separate for investigation were from Musa Qala, Gereshk, Nad Ali and Marjeh districts of the province.
“We have started investigations and will announce our decision about the votes after our inspection is completed,” Alikhil said.
He added that the 17 complaints were registered against both presidential candidates.
“For now, we have not received documents to support the complaints, but we have started our investigations because the people are committed to bring evidence in support of the complaints,” he said.
Alikhil said the ECC will address all complaints in accordance to the law. He adds that those who were involved in frauds should provide an explanation at the next commission meeting.
