Daykundi was created in 2004, as a new province cut out of the isolated Hazara reas of what was Urozgan province. It is a part of cultural the Hazarajat region. The province is one of the most secure and safest in the entire country. Its agricultural industry thrives, with almonds being the province's most popular product.
