Geography
Location: In central east Afghanistan at 34.4°N 68.4°E and borders Bamyan, Parwan, Kabul, Logar and Ghazni provinces.

Topography: Moderately mountainous compared to more northern provinces, it includes parts of the Kott-I Baba Range in the north as well as the Paghman Range in the east. The majority of the province is arable and well irrigated flatlands. The major rivers that pass through the province are the Helman, Kabul, Logar and Maydan Rivers.
