Geography
Location: In northern Afghanistan at 35.0°N 69.0°E and borders Baghlan, Panjshir, Kapisa, Kabul, Wardak and Bamyan provinces.
Size: 5,974 sq kilometers (2,307 sq miles)

Topography: Most of the province is mountainous as part of the Hindu Kush range. The Salang Pass splits the mountains in the north and connects Parwan to its northern neighbor, Baghlan. The Salang River flows southward through Parwan beginning in the mountainous north. There are significant swaths of arable flatlands in the southern area of the province as well.
